Quiet Water Section

OK for novice paddlers

River Features

  1. DANGER: 15-foot dam at South end of Eagleville Lake! Take out at launch site on RIGHT (west) side above dam and portage across bridge to launch site on LEFT (east) side downstream of bridge.

Launch

Eagleville Dam in Coventry (L 15.1 miles C)

Location: North side of Route 275, .3 miles west of Route 32; Distance from Start:15.1 miles; Vehicle Parking: Excellent; River Access: Good, but rocky; Comments: West side of river. Put in for Eagleville Lake and upstream paddle, or, for downstream trip, take out before 15 foot dam. 50 foot carry over rocky bank. To access the upper lake, use River Park launch in Mansfield (see Midriver Map).

Flatwater Section

for experienced paddlers

River Features

  1. WARNING Tricky left turn; stay on RIGHT of narrow channel. Current pushes into woody debris on RIGHT bank. Do not hold onto this debris.
  2. Stay RIGHT on first bend south of Route 31 bridge to avoid gravel bar on LEFT. Below here, watch for tricky currents. Channel narrow with possible obstructions.

Launch

Eagleville Dam in Mansfield (L 15.1 miles M)

Location: S. side of Rt. 275, .2m W of Rt. 32; Distance from Start: 15.1 miles; Vehicle Parking: Excellent; River Access: Good; Comments: Park in lot. Carry 150 feet across Route 275 to put-in on downstream side of bridge.
