This undeveloped, 3-acre Joshua's Trust preserve is next to the Merrow bridge in Coventry. It has no improvements, so there is only informal access to the river for fishing and launching a canoe or kayak.

From Route 195 in Mansfield, go south on Route 32 for eight-tenths mile. Turn right onto Merrow Road and cross the Willimantic River bridge into Coventry. Turn right immediately onto Riverview Drive and park in the lot on the right.
From the parking lot, return to Merrow Road and climb over the guard rail by the bridge. This area may be overgrown with brush, but beyond that, it is easy walking through woods to the river. Maple trees along the shore are a brilliant red-orange in autumn, a good time to walk here and enjoy views of the river's riffles and of Merrow Meadow Park across the river. The bank has an easy grade into the water for wading into the river for fishing or for launching a canoe or kayak. Check the Canoe and Kayak Map for details about the river's hazards, features and launch sites. This section of the river is classed as quick-water, which is appropriate for experienced river paddlers.
